Why Stretching Matters
Stretching is one of the unsexiest topics in health and fitness. It may not be the most glamorous part of your routine, but it’s incredibly important for long-term health and longevity. Regular stretching can improve your range of motion (think squatting down, pressing overhead, or twisting), enhance circulation, and reduce the risk of injuries as you age. Incorporating stretching or short yoga sessions into your weekly routine can significantly contribute to a healthier, longer life.

Yoga/ Down Dog App
This app has customisable yoga sessions that cater to all levels. You can choose the length of your session, the music, the instructor’s voice, and choose to focus on specific areas: a main focus (like your lower back, and a secondary focus (like your shoulders and chest). It has a small cost but is incredibly worth it, arguably the best yoga app on the market.

Make Stretching a Habit
We are always talking about how much water we should be drinking, and moving your body enough is almost as relevant! Adding stretching or short yoga sessions to your routine three times a week can make a big difference. You can make it part of your wind-down routine before bed or your morning routine to start the day refreshed. Need a midday break from work? Try a 15-minute yoga session to re-energise and refocus.
Incorporating stretching into your routine also provides a great opportunity for family bonding. If you have your kids join you, they’ll develop good habits and a healthy mindset towards exercise and movement!
Happy Stretching!
