How often should I be jumping into classes?
This is a question we get asked all the time.
When it comes to how often you should do CrossFit, the answer really depends on your individual fitness goals and current fitness level. Generally speaking, we recommend to do CrossFit 3-5 times per week, with at least one rest day in between workouts.
It’s important to note that CrossFit workouts are designed to be high-intensity, full-body workouts that challenge your strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness. This means that your body needs time to recover between workouts in order to avoid overtraining and reduce the risk of injury.
Our rest days gives our body the chance to recover and grow!
During exercise, our muscles experience micro-tears and stress that require time and rest to repair and rebuild. By incorporating rest days into your workout schedule, we give our bodies the opportunity to heal and strengthen, ultimately leading to improved performance and results.
If you’re new to CrossFit or are just starting to incorporate it into your fitness routine, it’s best to start with 2-3 workouts per week and gradually increase as you build strength and endurance. This will allow your body to adjust to the demands of the workouts and help you avoid burnout.
We’re looking at lifestyle changes and with that we need sustainability! we’re not trying to start a “here today, gone tomorrow” trend! We’re all about making lifestyle changes that stick. And sustainability is key to that. After all, we want you to be able to enjoy all of life’s adventures without feeling like you’re constantly sacrificing or depriving yourself.
On the other hand, if you’re a seasoned CrossFit athlete or have specific fitness goals you’re working towards, you may choose to do more than 5 workouts per week. However, it’s important to listen to your body and avoid pushing yourself too hard, as this can lead to injury and hinder your progress in the long run.
The key to finding the right frequency for your CrossFit workouts is to listen to your body, set realistic goals, and work with a qualified coach to design a personalised training plan that meets your needs and helps you achieve your fitness goals.
